Bob started taking photographs with an SLR he borrowed from a friend for a vacation back in 1983. After successfully managing other peoples businesses for 14 years while photographing on the side, Bob decided to follow the quote 'Do what you love and you will become a success.'

He hasn't looked back.

Coates has been extremely fortunate to be able to follow his dreams and make a successful career of photography. Starting out in the caribbean as a freelance photographer, working commercial jobs, then weddings and people. In 1999 Bob moved his business to beautiful Sedona, Arizona. He continues to work with past clients and create photographic projects to benefit charities as he works toward making a living from Fine Art Photography.

According to Bob, 'It's really fun to put all the photographic and digital imaging skills I've learned over the years into shaping the world as I see it on a two dimensional surface. It's a challenge I look forward to sharing with you. I hope you'll check back with this site regularly as my vision unfolds.'
